Members of the 2021 Deaflympics meet with Michelle Bolsonaro and representatives of the federal government
On the afternoon of last Friday, November 27, following the agenda of meetings with political figures in Brasília (DF), members of the Plural Committee of the 24th Summer Deaflympics met with the event’s godmother and first lady of the Republic, Michelle Bolsonaro, and representatives of the Federal Government, with whom they discussed the progress of the competition, resources and plans for 2021.
The group was formed by Emir José Alves da Silva, executive president of the Plural Committee of the 2021 Deaflympics, Gustavo Perazzolo, president interim of the International Sports Committee for the Deaf (ICSD), and Jaqueline Mognaga, executive of the 2021 Deaflympics.
At the meeting, attended by representatives of the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Citizenship, and Defense, all showed support and recognition of the greatness of the event, which should bring together more than 100 countries and 4 thousand deaf athletes. “The meeting brought advances in several agendas and needs for which the Federal government will provide assistance and support to the event,” said Deaflympics executive Jaqueline Mognaga.
The first lady, as godmother of the event, reinforced the big step that is the 24th edition of the Summer Deaflympics for the Brazilian deaf community, the state of Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. Michelle Bolsonaro also mentioned that it is something she wants to help and see accomplished as soon as possible.
