From 18 to 22 February 2017, more than 70 delegates from 34 countries came to Samsun, Turkey to inspect the sports venues and Village of the Deaflympics to ensure that it's ready for the 23rd Summer Deaflympics.
The delegation is those of Technical Directors and representatives of National Deaf Sports Federation around the world involved in the planning along with the OC.
The inspection of 21 sports program in all venues was diligent and thorough. Over the 2-day period, the experts examined each sports facility and directed their questions to the Directors of the facility.
Upon completion of the inspections, they were satisfied. Preparation for the 23rd Summer Deaflympics is now in effect; all facilities will be ready by May 2017.
In June, trial runs on these facilities will be done by hosting test competition in all sports that are included in the 23rd Summer Deaflympics' program.
In October 2015, Samsun, Turkey received 1st venue inspection, only very few sports venues were ready while the remaining were still under construction.
