We received about 5,000 people here, 2401 athletes from 73 nations. 50 of the 73 countries that competed rose to the podium in Caxias do Sul that's fabulous. Thousands of athletes will take medals and memories, certainly positive from Caxias do Sul.

During the second day of ICSD Extraordinary Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Brazil Deaf Sports Federation has made the decision to have Caxias du Sol be the host city for the Summer Deaflympics 2022. The decision was approved by the Congress.
